Tour of the Licht-Eurythmie Ensemble
More than ever we need to seek the connection between nature and human beings, to find what lies behind, above, within and underneath the surface of matter; we wait like a rose in the desert and need courage to face the needs of our time. As G.M. Hopkins said a hundred years ago: ‘Generations have trod, have trod…. and all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared, with toil and wears mans smudge and shares mans smell: the soil is bare now……. And for all this nature is never spent; there lives the dearest freshness deep down things…….’ In the tale of the fisherman and his wife, the enchanted fish grants the wishes of the soul, without reservation - how wonderful that we can grow, but only if we stay within the boundaries of self-knowledge. And in our Turnip-story for the little ones: the common task can only succeed when the smallest, most inconspicuous member of the community joins in the effort.
The Licht-Eurythmie-Ensemble is looking forward to come to Kimberton, Spring-Valley, the House of peace Ipswich and Copake in October this year, to share in movement: music and poetry, stories, colors and light. We are a professional group from Dornach/Arlesheim, Switzerland. The core members of the group were active for decades as stage eurythmists, and for 20 years Licht-Eurythmie has been traveling to countless countries around the globe with various programs in German English, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian. In addition to five to eight eurythmists, the group consists of a musician, speaker and a light-eurythmist.
The Licht Eurythmie Ensemble works closely with the lighting impulse of Rudolf Steiner, who said that the lighting technician for Eurythmy performances should do Eurythmy with the lights and therefore be a light- eurythmist. In order to develop this, we carry with us our own lighting equipment but we always like to include any existing Lights and can easily adjust to the situations at hand. To strengthen the effects of the colored light, we carry with us a floor covering and backdrop painted with plant colors.
At the moment we are enjoying steeping ourselves in the English language and are looking forward to the “Indian summer” across the Atlantic, and sharing an eurythmy experience with you.
